Our origin story
when community is just two ladies in a trenchcoat
Brenna and Christina met in October 2019 on a photography project hosted by our local art magazine/ community known as Project Oh! Brenna was the photographer and Christina the model, as well as her sister Andrea providing sugar skull make up and Project Oh! owner Jeremy providing the creative space and gear, and participating in the creative process. We were a pile of creatives with a love for halloween and a desire to play with lights, costumes and make up.

Over the years, Brenna shifted focus from photography toward spirituality based practice and in 2022 founded Lady Greyheart, where she attained master level Reiki and provided energy healing as well as other services such as sound baths (bowls gifted by none other than Christina!), mindful art workshops, journaling / creative writing opportunities, spiritual gatherings, and vendor opportunities to other small businesses who specialized in skin care products, candle making, jewelry, crystals, sewing, gardening, divination an more.
In 2019, Christina channeled her “Martha Stewart” and started Charlie Haus, where she began exploring the creative process of making and selling seasonal and home goods while also teaching local creative and DIY workshops including wreath making, scented candle making and design, and a variety of kids workshops. She rebranded to Mther in 2026.
The next project they worked on together, February 2025, was an intention setting candle workshop where Lady Greyheart provided the spiritual knowledge, meditative and peaceful space, and Mther curated the materials and how-to for beautifully designed candles.

This was the beginning of a year long mulling over the idea of making something a little bit bigger than either of them could quite define. They began hosting pop up events for their “Vibe Tribe”, whimsical backyard events with food, music, activities, and a little bit of magic.

Eventually, they discovered the definition they were looking for: The Femme.
In the LGBTQ+ community, femme (often pronounced "fem" or fam) refers to a person with a feminine gender expression or identity, frequently reclaiming or subverting traditional femininity. …It is now used across the spectrum by queer women, non-binary, and trans people. - Sam Manzella, Them
The Femme is the idea of a space that is femme first - a space for femmes to go to feel safe, to feel loved, to feel angry, to feel whimsical, to feel creative, and to feel hopeful for a brighter future. The Femme is the overarching guide that leads Lady Greyheart and Mther toward something greater than themselves. It is a place to pour into the garden of community, and leave the world a little bit better than they found it.
This is just the beginning. The last seven years has been a process and an evolution, and they are just getting started. Stay tuned to see what they cook up next!
Love on, girlies!
